I’m Thankful For Sneakers

This Thanksgiving I have more than enough things to be thankful about, like a week off work. But I am really thankful for sneakers, this year more than ever. In 2020, sneakers have given me more to think about as I consider my fortunes and blessings on this day in this trying year.

I am thankful for all the sneakers in my rotation, past and present. Each and every one of those pairs all have important moments and experiences tied to them, and all of them have served me well. I’m thankful for the countless times I had the chance to clean them up, often times accompanied by a movie or the fellowship of a friend. There have been a lot of times the right pair of shoes made my outfit pop, and plenty of other times where they were just right for the occasion. Although many of these sneakers are no longer in my closet, they are still great sneakers I enjoyed having and developing a style with, as they have given way for the current sneakers in my rotation; legacies to those having come before them.

I am thankful for the people that I have met and gotten a chance to interact with because of sneakers. For the people that I have interviewed, worked with, and even became friends with. Had it not been for what they probably had on their feet, I probably would have never known that they were into sneakers or that they were just as serious about them as I am. So I am thankful that I have a network of people that share the same love and interest to share experiences with. Not only has it expanded my circles, but it has also made me a better sneakerhead. I don’t have all the answers, but I have more because of the knowledge and information I’ve gotten from the people I’ve met and been in contact with.

I am thankful for the events I’ve been able to attend and been made aware of, because of sneakers. I have had the opportunity to attend conventions, special events, parties, and a plethora of other things because of sneakers. It’s here I’m able to get in touch with more sneakerheads and also become more involved and active in the community.

Finally, I am thankful for Clean Your Shoes. I am thankful for sneakers, because without all other aforementioned reasons that I am thankful for them, Clean Your Shoes wouldn’t exist. The very thing I eat, breathe, sleep about every day is all because of sneakers. So, I am thankful for sneakers for giving me something that I love.

There are a lot of things for me to be thankful for, but the sneakers have done so much for me in this past year alone, I need to give them the thanks and credit that they rightfully deserve.
